We opened The Revelry in 2013 with a dream & no money of our own. We loved restaurants & every aspect of them—food, cocktails, wine, and mostly, we loved hospitality. We wanted to bring a piece of the South to Rochester. What started out as a fine(r) dining restaurant with a huge wine program and a rowdy bar took on a life of its own. Our success at The Revelry was the result of 18 hour days for years— a lot of blood, sweat & tears. We grew a hospitality company from this humble spot. In 2024, we started to ask ourselves, what’s next for our beloved Rev?

Rewind to 2015—we began work on J-Bones BBQ. We had the drawings, the lease, the menu… and then things changed, as they often do. Since then, we’ve had this little dream of opening a BBQ joint in our back pocket, just waiting for the stars to align. We began to think maybe it just wasn’t in the cards. Sometimes the answer is right in front of you, there all along. And the answer to our love of BBQ and everything it represents was The REV!

Back to 2025—REV BBQ ( & the Outpost) is a dream come true for us. It’s the culmination of over a decade of plans and a lifetime of loving barbecue (Carolina ‘Cue 4ever but TX comes close). To bring a our favorite ‘cue to Rochester NY with a team of people who are as passionate about this as we are, and in the place that gave us a foothold in this city… it’s a special moment. We are so grateful and so excited to share this with our community. Because, beyond the meat & smoke, that’s what BBQ is about… love, community, patience, camaraderie. Hope to see ya’ll soon!
